Ideas alone will get you nowhere quickly

light-bulb-light-old

This may not sound controversial in theory, but in practice it is. We can easily start with an idea and then build on top of it. However, just because something is possible doesn’t mean it’s helpful. Never start with an idea, start with a problem.

As Steve Jobs would say “start with the customer experience and work back toward the technology.”

To add to what Steve Jobs has said, even a great customer experience that doesn’t solve a real problem for people will not have a great chance of success. Always keep in mind, the bigger the problem is that you’re solving and the better you execute on solving that problem the bigger the potential you have to create something that’s truly market changing.
